Moses Kuria has heavily criticised the President’s move not to appoint six High Court Judges who were part of the team that annulled the Building Bridges Initiative.

According to city lawyer Ahmednassir Abdulahi, four judges recommended by the Judicial Service Commission to the Court of Appeal refused to be gazetted by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Already, calls have been made to the 34 judges appointed to refuse to be gazetted until the six left out are also appointed too.

As per the constitution, all judges recommended by Judicial Service Commission must be appointed by President Uhuru, as the Head of State

Chief Justice Martha Koome indicated that she’ll first call first Lady to enquire about the mood of President Uhuru’s when dealing with vital matters concerning the interrelationship between the Executive and Judiciary.

However, Moses Kuria now believes CJ Koome doesn’t have to go that Path as the head of state publicly expressed himself and it’s high time for Judiciary to save itself from self-destruction and avoid acting like ODM MPs.

The vocal legislator says the country is in a tough dictatorial state only three solutions are available from this state.

The Judiciary itself, Parliament or the people themselves will stand up against this intimidation of the current regime if the first two fail to deliver.

This will be the biggest task for the first female chief justice and many are waiting to see how she responds to this attack from the Executive.
