Eric Omondi Released on a 50k Bail, Apologizes To Mutua and his Fans

Comedian Eric Omondi has apologized to Netizens and the country at large after having a long call with Dr Ezekiel Mutua.

The comedian who was arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Thursday, March 11 following complaints by Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Officer Ezekiel Mutua.

He was arrested for violating the provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya by producing and distributing unauthorized films dubbed “Wife Material”

Taking to his Twitter, he thanked his fans for the love they’ve shown him and explained that ‘Wife Material’ show must continue.

“I stand today in humility and gratitude to thank the Almighty God and my fans for the love you’ve shown me since yesterday.

I’ve been released on Ksh 50,000 together with my beautiful 15 wife material. I will appear in court on March 18, 2021. Until then the show must continue.”

On his Instagram,Omondi says that he agrees with Ezekiel Mutua on the point that ‘Wife Material’ doesn’t have to be dirty to sell.

‘.. I completely agree with him and I have sent him a personal apology.”

Eric says that his intention was to entertain and not offend, apologizing to everyone that was offended too.

He completed his post explaining that he show is supposed to bring Africa and East Africa together through entertainment.

“The vision is to take over Africa and the dream is to to lift the East African flags to the world and that requires rigorous and vigorous creative process.”

Eric promises to be better and do better in his show
