Former majority whip , Senator Kang’ata has said that the handshake is in trouble and dying. Speaking on KTN news last night, Kang’ata says the purpose of the handshake was to bring peace and the president didn’t mention anything about 2022 endorsement.
“The president was very clear that the handshake was all about peace and nothing to do with 2022 politics,” said the senator
The Senator who became famous after his infamous letter to the President about the BBI, says that the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga is being lied to, he has no support from the central.
Irungu Kang’ata: For me Raila Odinga should be contended with the peace he brought by the handshake and forget about 2022. The president stated that the handshake has nothing to do with 2022. #Newsline @Ben_Kitili pic.twitter.com/eTJpQQpiw7

“Anyone who is going to tell Mr Raila Odinga to support the BBI and the Handshake so that the central province can support him is lying to him,” said the confident Senator.
Allegations of the handshake falling came wake after claims by Siaya Senator James Orengo that senior civil servants had hatched a plot to undermine party leader Raila Odinga.
According to the Siaya Senator, the said individuals are busy trying to determine who becomes the country’s president in 2022 instead of focusing on unity.
“We have seen what happened in Matungu and Kabuchai and all over the country…this is not what is called free and fair elections.
On a day of elections there should be total peace, and whereas Harambee House likes condemning politicians, this time round I’m condemning the administration, the people in Harambee House and the police,”he said.
