Collins Otieno Ochieng was arrested during a joint police operation from Reru and Kombewa police stations in Seme.
West Seme location chief Nicholas Oguma says the suspect was nabbed at East Ngere sub location in his house after being tracked by DCI officers.
Ochieng is accused of posting on his social media page, Facebook, that the school head boy at Ngere high school had been killed by his fellow students.
Chief Oguma says the suspect is being held at Kombewa police station and will be arraigned in court.
Police and Education officials in Seme sub county had on Sunday dismissed as fake and malicious- the reports that had spread quickly on Kenyan social media.
