Hon. Leonard SimakaLeonard Shimaka was born in the year 1980. In South Malava, Lunyinya village, Western Kenya. He went to Lunyinya primary and later on joined St Paul’s high school. Later, he went to free province international School in Uganda where he studied law. Thereafter he joined LSK. He has worked as a lawyer from 2005 to date. He is the director at one of the largest law firms in East Africa, Narendra & Shimaka co-advocates-based Mombasa.
He was the former Marende’s advisor during the kibaki regime which saw the country progress positively. He has been Joho’s advisor and that has seen Mombasa progress quit well. He started his political journey in 2010 holding some elective position in the government. In the year 2017 he vied as a speaker at the county assembly of Kakamega in preparation for the 2022 race. He values education as a leader and some of his achievements include helping young men and women acquire scholarships.
“This new year 2021, we are planning to launch a football league which will run for the whole year. This is to help youth discover and grow their talents, it is also a way of keeping youth from unruly behavior like drug abuse,” he said. “Choir competition are also set to take place, moving forward leaving no one behind.”
“I am determined to take Kakamega county to another level given they elect me as their governor.” He believes in his undoubtful leadership skills, saying he is the master of the slogan Nyayo plus (+) and ready to take it from where the sitting governor has left. “May God bless Kenya, Kakamega county and its citizens at large as I plan to make this step of transforming lives through my leadership skills,” he added.
Mathew Makari being his coordinator also the head of communication team supported Hon. Shimaka’s words urging Kakamega residents to elect him as their governor come 2022 which will be an election year.
